SERVING THE COLD SPRING LOCATION — INDIVIDUALS (18+), COUPLES AND FAMILIES AS A CHRISTIAN COUNSELOR

Terry received his Bachelor’s degree in Community Psychology from St. Cloud State in 2012 and his Masters degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Liberty University in 2016. He enjoys working with individuals, couples and marriages.

It’s important to Terry that clients feel comfortable and safe when discussing the problems that bring them to counseling, so he relies on his empathy, warmth and sense of humor to help clients feel at ease. He enjoys working collaboratively with clients to find the best solutions for their problems, and tailors his style to best fit the client’s personality.

Terry uses CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy) to help clients replace illogical, negative and faulty thinking with more truthful, positive and hope-inspiring thoughts. He also believes it’s important to help clients identify their strengths so they can use them in their treatment. He enjoys working with clients who struggle with anxiety, depression, anger, trauma grief & loss, stress, adjustment disorders and eating disorders. When it comes to working with couples and marriages, Terry helps these units in overcoming issues of miscommunication, conflict resolution and finding healing/forgiveness in their relationship.

Terry is a born-again Christian; believing that Jesus Christ is the Son of God and died for the sins of all so that, through a relationship with Him, we may have salvation. Terry enjoys integrating theology with psychotherapy upon client’s request and comfort level; utilizing prayer and scripture to bring breakthrough and change in the lives of his clients. He believes there is no more powerful force in helping people change than the grace and love of Christ.

“And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.”
Philippians 4:7 NIV
